Madison Headrick: Supermodel & CEO on Beauty Secrets, Travel Tips & Navigating Motherhood

Tell Us Who You Are!
I’m Madison Headrick, the founder and CEO of Care.ē.on. I started my career as a runway model for designer brands like Balmain, Ralph Lauren, and Calvin Klein, and I’ve been on the covers for many international editions of Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar.
And when I’m not in front of the camera (lol)... I dedicate my time and resources to environmental conservation (especially our beautiful ocean!) and supporting female entrepreneurship and artisans in developing countries.
In 2022, I launched my skincare brand Care.ē.on. Why? I believe that health and wellness shouldn’t stop just because you’re traveling or on-the-go. (You deserve to take a minute for yourself, no matter where you are!)
Follow our journey on IG and try one of our products. (Which, FYI, garnered praise from publications like Vogue UK and Cultured…!)
6:30 AM - 8:00 AM → Morning “Me” Time ☀️
I used to not be a morning person at all. But once I had a baby, I was like, if I have two full-time jobs and a child? I’ll never have any time for myself unless I wake up early.
First thing, I have my green juice and coffee. Then I do my whole skincare routine and get dressed for the day.
And If I’m doing a modeling job? I’d probably be out the door, ASAP, either heading to the shoot or hopping on a flight to the shoot location.
8:15 AM - 9:30 AM → Good Morning, Baby 👶🏻
By the time I’m done with my quick AM routine, it’s 8 AM, which is when my baby wakes up. (Parents: You know how it is!) I feed him, wash him, do a diaper change, which takes about an hour. At 9:30, he loves books. We read books for 30 minutes, and then he goes back down for a nap.
10:15 AM - 12:00 PM → Work It Out 🏋🏼♀️
From 10 to 12, I can finally workout. Exercise is essential for my brain function and ability to focus on my business! I love to do pilates at New York Pilates and Forma. (It’s not for the weak, but it’s amazing!)
12:15 PM - 1:00 PM → Let’s Lunch 🥗
For lunch, I’ll have a smoothie, salad, or something else I’ve already prepared. (Because by the time I’ve showered, checked in on work, and gotten home, my baby is up, so I gotta be quick.)
I love making smoothies with bananas and blueberries, almond butter, chia seeds, and Perelel superfood blend. There’s also a salad from Ruby’s called the Crispy Rice Bowl that I craved during my pregnancy and I still eat it almost every day. It has arugula, halloumi, crispy rice, avocado and a yummy dressing.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM → Playing At The Park 🛝
After lunch, I feed my baby, do a diaper change, burp again. Then, we get some fresh air. I take him on a walk every day. And if it’s rainy, we do a dance party in the apartment, hah.
2:10 PM - 5:15 PM → Let’s Care.ē.on 🧑🏼💻
When we get home, my baby goes back to sleep, so I’ll focus on work, like emails and Zoom calls for Care.ē.on.
Lately, my team and I have been focusing on how we’re going to launch a couple (super secret!) new products that I can’t wait to share with the world soon…! (Stay tuned.)
Once my baby wakes up, I feed, change, and diaper him again before handing him off to his dad, who usually comes home before 5ish!
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM → The Finishing Touches! 💻
Time for me to focus again. I’ll finish up any emails or calls that I need to do before the day’s end. (I swear, business founders are always working!)
Once I’m done, my husband and I will give my baby a bath, read to him, then put the baby to bed.
Finally, My husband and I have dinner together, then chill or do more work until it’s time to hit the hay.
You’ve been modeling since you were 14! What made you want to start a skincare line, on top of it all?
At my busiest, I was literally living on airplanes and out of a suitcase. The packing and stress was draining me, so I found ways to streamline. I started making little kits with travel-sized items to keep in my suitcase, and that’s where I got the idea for Care.ē.on. I thought: What if I curated kits for my bags that would help me practice self-care? Even if it’s 30 seconds for a mask on a plane or a mist, taking a moment during a busy day transformed the rest of my week. It’s the only way I can get through such a hectic schedule.
You’re basically a professional traveler. Do you have any packing tips?
I lay out all the outfits. I pack each outfit into a packing cube, accessories and all. Then I don’t have to dig through my suitcase. It’s all planned out for me, and I don’t have to re-pack to make everything fit. I also have a travel version of everything; my skincare, my vitamins, my chargers, etc. Those stay in my suitcase for when I need them!
Your skin is amazing! Can you tell us your beauty secrets?
One thing no one tells you about… Breast milk! My baby nurse told me about it. It’s unbelievable. If you have a pimple, put breast milk on it, and it’s gone the next day. I pour breast milk into an ice cube tray, and I put it in the freezer. The next morning, instead of using my ice rollers, I use the breast milk cubes. It makes my skin glowy and amazing, and I’ve even turned my friends onto it, too. I haven’t had a zit since starting.
The other product that I will never, ever stop using no matter the season is the Biologique Recherche Lotion P50. It changed my skin. I had really bad acne through middle school to high school, which caused scarring. The P50 totally got rid of all that pigmentation. Also, at Care.ē.on, we just introduced our Lip Layover Mask. It’s sooo good.
My go-to advice is…
Nowadays when I go into casting calls, I’m not even nervous about rejection. Just pretend you’re a character. If you’re rejected, think of it as the character or product who was passed on—it probably just wasn’t the right fit—not you as a person.
