Bare It All Spotlight: DANA HASSON

Tell us who you are!
I’m Dana Hasson, a lifestyle content creator with over three million followers between both TikTok and Instagram.
But did you know I’m also a self-taught baker? With my passion for baking, I founded Homemade Ish, a dry mix and starter kit company that makes at-home baking fun, accessible, and yup, even glamorous.
I love bridging the gap between viral baking content with tangible products my community can actually use! Follow along in my journey on Instagram, TikTok, and of course, don’t forget to try one of our sweet Homemade Ish treats for yourself.

Get The Body Movin’ 🚶🏼♀️
I sleep in until almost 8:40 AM and I love it. Sleep is so underrated—I’ll never compromise on my sleep! I’ve been trying to move my body first thing in the morning before I sit down and work for the day. I’ll either go on a long walk or to the pilates studio by my neighborhood, which is Tribeca.
I have a Blank Street Coffee right next to my apartment, so after I move my body I order a Banana Bread Matcha from there. I think everyone deserves a little treat when they start their day!

Feelin’ Camera Ready 💄
I’m passionate about beauty and fashion, too, so I always make sure I do my hair and makeup in the morning and pick out an outfit that I love.
I like to incorporate this sense of beauty and put-together-ness in all of my baking videos, too. I know people are coming to my page because I make great food and I show them how to look good doing it!
11:30 AM - 6:30 PM
Meetings & Baking Videos 💪🏼
On Sundays I do all of my baking content for the week. I call it binge baking! It’s when I film all of my videos and test the recipes.
Then, during the week is when I do my computer work. I’ll be taking meetings, editing videos, and sometimes sneaking in a few extra filming sessions here and there.
Throughout the day I’ll touch base with everyone from my food scientist and fulfillment partners for Homemade Ish to my personal talent manager. It takes a whole team to get everything done!
6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
It’s Social Hour 👭
At night, I tend to prioritize hanging out with friends, whether that be through dinner or just chilling at somebody’s home or I’ll have a brand event to attend.
That said, I am someone who really needs their sleep! So during the week, I don’t stay out too late.

Skincare & Sleepy Time 🌜
I think I’m able to see things clearer because I’m a well-rested person. I try to do my skincare and be in bed by 10:00 PM at the latest. Then, I can get around 10 hours of sleep. (Like I said, sleep is my life!) And I’m so strict with my skincare routine! I will literally be drunk and I’ll still do it every night.
There’s such a huge culture of don’t sleep, don’t eat, and work 24/7. But as long as I check off my to-do list for the day, I pretty much just let myself rest.
Remember: Sleep is so important for your mental health and bodily well-being! The only way to not be stressed is to take things with a grain of salt—which I can only do when I sleep!
How did you leverage your community to create such an amazing launch event for Homemade Ish? Parties can be so expensive and stressful, after all!
I knew from the start that because I was creating a food product, so it wasn’t interfering with any beauty clients of mine. From there, I started brainstorming some brands that would align with Homemade Ish, and my manager helped me reach out to the ones that might be interested in collaborating for the launch.
Buxom ended up wanting to pay for my launch shoot, helping us give great gifts to influencer friends and create some social content, which they featured on their website as a cross-promotion! (Sooo cool and helpful!) Grey Goose also helped provide spirits for the launch! Basically, finding partners that were enthusiastic about the brand (and were actually willing to commit resources to helping!) was so major for us.
Building a business from the ground up can feel impossible! How did you find the motivation?
When you’re just starting out, you have to celebrate every win—even the small ones! I remember when I was living with my parents during the pandemic and I got my first check (it was $300!) for doing an Instagram ad. I felt rich!
I remember being like, see? I can pay for my life, and for my New York City apartment, with this business if I keep working at it. My family and I were jumping up and down around the kitchen, so excited. When you celebrate the small wins, the big wins are so much more meaningful.
Because you’re an expert… Can you spill some beauty secrets?
I double cleanse every night, first with an oil one then a regular one. I love the one by Elemis! I follow with the Lancome Triple Serum and an eye cream by U Beauty. I also love using Beia’s Hydrating & Setting Mist! It’s refreshing, chic, and the perfect way to finish off my makeup look.
If I’m in the mood, I’ll add more serums into the mix, but if not, I just finish off with a moisturizer and I’m good to go to sleep.
My mantra is...
“Take everything life throws at you with a grain of salt.” Otherwise, you’ll find yourself stressed out about everything. And life’s too short!
